Community Service
The Community Service committee has several main areas of responsibility in leading the Club's effort to give back to the community. One major undertaking that the club has supported is providing and serving food at Tender Mercies in Over-the-Rhine.
EITC Volunteer Tax Preparation
Earned Income Tax Credit is a regional initiative offering FREE tax assistance to low income families. Our goal is simple: to ensure that people file their taxes, take advantage of all the credits for which they are eligible and do not pay filing fees to commercial tax preparers.
No previous experience is needed, and free training and certification is available! If you are interested, please see the attached flyer and volunteer description.
Tender Mercies
The Club is continually looking for volunteers to help prepare and/or serve dinner at Tender Mercies on the second Sunday of each month. The project has been a huge success due to a group of dedicated volunteers, and the Club is always in need of more help. We need people willing to prepare one dish at home to help in our efforts to feed the forty residents of Tender Mercies.
An e-mail is sent to all of our volunteers several weeks before the event and people are able to help when their schedules allow. The time commitment is minimal, but the impact on the residents' lives is tremendous. If you are interested in volunteering, please contact Nick Schrantz at 513-791-6496 or nickmegschrantz@aol.com
